I absolutely love rows of French windows not only for their opportunity to create mouldings and architectural detailing but also for the way they enhance the play of light and shade in a room. The broad shafts of light are always so pleasing. In this house I painted the walls and the joinery all the same colour with a tonal difference in the sheen of the finish.
